You tried going vegan this year, only to be greeted by a procession of
green juice, marinated tofu and goji berry bars. Your palate was pretty perturbed.
Indulge your inner carnivore for an evening by heading over to the new Sear Steakhouse in Closter. Opened by the team who brought you long time Bergen favorite DiMora Restaurant, the eatery pays homage to the classic steakhouse with a menu filled with perfectly aged porterhouses, NY strips, Ribeye, Filet Mignon and Rack of Lamb. Starters like crispy cooked bacon and colossal shrimp cocktail left us wanting more along with side dishes of creamed spinach, onion rings and seasoned macaroni and cheese.
The luxuriously redesigned dining room has transformed the space (previously home to Peking Duck House) into two dining rooms with soft lighting and a bar to lounge in while waiting for your pals. Not a meat lover? Settle into a cozy booth and order up lighter fare like salmon with leeks and light horseradish cream, seared tuna or swordfish. Finish off with something anything accompanied by a side of Schlage (German for heaven on a plate).
Still we preferred the “as good as Lugers” steak for two. Sure to keep you licking your chops.
Sear-iously.
