Attention, all foodies, repeat after us: “Beat it, Brooklyn!” A brand-new smorgasborg of finger-licking-good food vendors slinging Gram-worthy gourmet grub has hit the scene, and you won’t have to trek all the way to the Hipster Heaven to sink your teeth into it. Bergen County food lovers should head to the Garden State Public Market at Westfield Garden State Plaza, where a ginormous food fair has set up shop for the next 12 weeks.
Billed as a creative “pop-up” concept that creates an experiential dining and shopping experience unlike any other, the event planners who created the Midnight Market in Jersey City this past January have converted 20,000 square-feet of space (in the old Pirch appliance store spot) into a food-lovers paradise, with a rotating list of local gourmands and artisan vendors on board.
Bring your appetite: hungry visitors will be able to treat their tastebuds to dishes from a variety of local food faves, including Kimchi Smoke Barbecue, El Lechon De Negron, Tojo Kitchen, Yani's Bake House, Jerk Shack Grill, Sogno Coffee, The Brownie Bar, and more!
Afterward, stick around for a series of exclusive activities and theme nights like game night and Joe’s Trivia (Thursdays), FREE live jazz concerts (Fridays) and kid's yoga classes (Saturday mornings), Flower Festival workshops just in time for Mother's Day (May 10), and Saturday night Silent Disco parties (check Westfield’s Facebook page for up-to-the-minute announcements and tickets). Then work off the food you ate with Fit4Mom one hour full body Stroller Strides workouts.
It’s gonna be a poppin’ good time!
