With the temperatures starting to drop, soup season is officially upon us. But don’t even think about popping the top off a can of Campbell’s. Use your noodle and sit down to a piping hot bowl of gourmet broth at Tori Ramen Chicken.
This Ridgewood noodle house specializes in one thing: ramen. If your only exposure to this crispy, curly pasta has been accompanied by a Styrofoam cup and a plastic flavor packet, it’s time you did ramen right. Tori Ramen Chicken takes their noodles to the next level, offering no less than fifteen flavorful options, including meats, vegetables, and tofu. Plus fried chicken available three different ways (okay, maybe they have two specialties).
We stopped in on a recent rainy day and spooned up a few flavors. The soy ramen tasted similar to a miso soup you’d find at a high-end hibachi restaurant, just amplified with oodles of noodles and a topped with shredded beef. The chicken/pork ramen was also great and reminded us of homemade chicken noodle soup. Every bowl contains bamboo shoots, green onions, noodles, and a hard-boiled egg—a unique but tasty surprise—and a small serving of pickled kimchi.
