The Brownie Bar Café Opening in Ridgefield Park, NJ

As ice cream season slowly, and sadly, starts to wind down, you're likely on the hunt for a new dessert spot to continue to satisfy your sweet tooth. Oh, and maybe put a smile on your kids' faces too. There's no debating the level of comfort reached when biting into a warm, freshly baked brownie. Enter: The Brownie Bar Café, with its grand opening coming up all weekend long, starting Friday September 17 in Ridgefield Park.

Not your mother's boxed brownies, you may likely know The Brownie Bar from its food truck of the same moniker, often found at food fests in and around Bergen County. Lucky for us, owner and chef Lai Fung-Barboni decided to expand upon her food truck of gooey goodness to open a storefront with the popular and out-of-the-box (or in this case, out-of-the-bowl) unique brownie flavors and beyond.

While chocolate is on the menu with a twist -- think: triple chocolate fudge -- flavor options go well beyond the typical. Some of the Brownie Bar's unique flavors include Cookies & Cream, Bananas Foster and Caramel Sea Salt brownie. Expect a rotation of six flavors, featured items and seasonal options to change monthly. Pecan Pie brownies, coming in October, and Pumpkin Spice Blondie are some fall classics, plus Gingerbread Blondie during the holiday season. Want to add some grown-up ingredients into the mix? The Brownie Bar Café also has flavors such as White Russian Brownies to mix childhood sweetness with a taste of adulthood.

The brick and mortar shop will often some seating so you can enjoy your treats, plus special menu items beyond brownies, such as their frozen chocolate blast, sundaes and empanadas.
