Still haven’t gotten around to booking that dream trip to Italy? Skip Expedia and reserve a table at Sofia restaurant in Englewood NJ, where a first-class culinary excursion featuring all the rich, seasonal flavors of Naples and Ischia awaits!

James Beard Award-winning executive chef Pasquale Frola spent this past summer in “The Belpaese" (ya know, the “Beautiful Country”), and he’s brought back with him inspiration for an updated fall/winter menu that’s sure to make Sofia a sell-out every night of the week. Ingredients like locally harvested pumpkin, butternut squash, and red apples; sustainably grown organic greens like kale and Brussels sprouts; and black truffles, porcini mushrooms, and vesuvio tomatoes imported straight from the Old Country are all taking center stage alongside Sofia’s resident stars: its world-class selection of steak and seafood.

Here are just a few new seasonal dishes worth stopping in for:

Autumn Salad – cubed red apple and roasted butternut squash join quinoa in a bed of greens topped with Pecorino Toscano.

Strozzaprete - Roasted cauliflower is resplendent when paired with Sofia’s house-made pasta and topped with truffle cream, seasoned breadcrumbs and shaved Pecorino.

Colossal Shrimp Venezia - The ocean-fresh favorites are served scampi style atop a gigante-bean purée and topped with organic microgreens. A Mediterranean can’t-miss!

And there’s no better place to dive in to these delicious dishes than Sofia’s gorgeous, two-story dining space featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, ivy-strewn skylight, plush leather booths and just the right amount of old-school Italian touches.
