Playa Bowls Englewood Opens and We’re Bowled Over

Restaurants  /

You’ve probably already heard of Playa Bowls, a growing fast-casual chain focused on healthy fruit-based bowls founded by a duo of Jersey Shore natives. The company has become so successful that they’ve now got more than 50 locations along the East Coast, with the majority in the Garden State.  Thanks to multiple locations in Bergen County that have opened this year, we’ve found ourselves hooked on their grab-and-go good-for-you fare at locations in Rutherford, Ridgewood and Franklin Lakes and are excited to report that they just opened up yet another area location - Playa Bowls Englewood, giving us yet another option for quick and easy guilt-free fare.

The bowls (inspired by the food trucks and the founders travels to surf towns in like Central American and Hawaii) are based around a different superfood like acai, pitaya (also known as dragon fruit), banana, chia pudding, kale, or coconut and can be customized with everything from granola to almonds to a medley of fruits to chocolate protein. Also look for fresh juices, smoothies, and steel cut oatmeal. Bottom line: It’s fast, affordable, and you could go every day for a year and get a new, delicious, nutrient-rich combo each time. Wait ... is that an option?
