Football is a little bit like planning a vacation. You enjoy it that much more when you savor the experience in advance. So here’s where Tailgate Joe comes in: He brings the party to you!

Started by a small group of diehard Jets fans, Tailgate Joe is a game day fan club and tailgate party with over 300 guests per week. The premise of the club is to bring the friendship and camaraderie of Jets fandom by throwing the biggest and best tailgate parties possible for those who don’t want to host their own.

Known for great food, and plenty of it, the TGJ party has been mentioned in the book 100 Things Jets Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die by Bill Chastain and Food & Wine's "Best Tailgating Cities" list. Offerings include traditional BBQ classics, kicking them up a few notches using the best ingredients. The TGJ crew has competed in the Great Hot Dog Cook Off, and Joe has spent time studying at the house of world BBQ champion and judge on TV's American Pitmasters Myron Mixon.

Tailgate Joe is at every home game, and a few away games as well. You can find them on the lot about five hours before kickoff, and it’s free to join and hang out and enjoy their TV system broadcasting other games as well as music and entertainment. Food and drink is by donation, which is usually $35-$50 per person, depending on the menu. For those that want to partake in the all-you-can-eat-and-drink awesomeness, you can purchase a pass, which includes all eight regular season tailgate parties.

Another option is to book a semi-private VIP experience, including a tent, keg, and waitstaff option. These are meant for groups of 4-20 people, and prices range from $400-$650, in addition to food costs.

Time to get your game party on!
