Westfield Garden State Plaza is fast and furiously becoming home to just about everything we need in life – from movies and manicures to iPhones and art (including a real-deal replica of the Sistine Chapel). Now, just in time for the weather to turn too frigid to go near an outdoor playground, the place is giving us a brand-spanking new interactive play area for the kiddos adjacent to its updated food court.
The Play Space has a fun Jersey Shore theme (since we’ll be dreaming of our next summer Shore trip all winter long) with a mix of nautical and boardwalk-esque touches. Kids can scurry along pirate ship netting, hop over sand dunes, and say hello to sea creatures via a (digital) fish tank. There are also elements of the Amazon children series Tumble Leaf incorporated into the space and Amazon Books will host story time there on Saturday mornings at 11am.
Nearby, The Bistro dining complex – a stylish and modern space with a mix of high-top seating and cafe-style tables – has unveiled a handful of new quick-service restaurant concepts perfect for kids.
