Basque Tapas serves up small dishes and larger plates steeped in the Spanish tradition. Make full use of your sitter time and settle in at a table for two near the generous bar, order a drink and survey the buzzing scene. The warm and inviting space with industrial-style lighting overhead, rustic brick walls and dark wood tabletops is the perfect place for nursing a glass of Sangria or a robust Spanish red while you wait for your table. Reservations are only taken for parties of six or more.

Sure it's fun for you and your honey to dine together alone but if you're part of a group, plan to go with people who don't mind sharing a dish or six with you. The menu here is pretty extensive, offering not only tapas options but also cheese and charcuterie boards, paellas that can feed up to seven, and larger entrée-sized plates showcasing meat and seafood. Order everything at once, especially if you are getting paellas, and let the staff sequence the dishes so everything comes out hot and you don't ever have to put your fork down for long. 

Some not-to-be-missed dishes include Gambas a la Plancha, (sizzling grilled marinated shrimp), Croquetas del Dia (croquettes of the day), and Alcachofas Fritas (fried artichokes with a caper remoulade).

Then leave room for the the special paella for two, a particulare favorite is Chicken and Chorizo. Prepared in the traditional Spanish method, full of flavor, gorgeous chunks of authentic chorizo, and chicken so tender it was falling off the bone. Everything paella should be, and worth the 30 minutes prep time, especially since you and your sweetie have the luxury of time to dine and relax.
