Old school: adults decide what students should learn, and then hope and pray that students eventually find their passion after they graduate. But what if students found their passion NOW, while they are still in school? At Dwight-Englewood Summer Connections students direct what they want to investigate further, igniting passions every step of the way.
In Enrichment 360, D-E’s brand new addition to their Enrichment Program for students in grades 5 - 12, young innovators, investigators, designers, programmers, performers, and philanthropists can design their own Enrichment 360 schedule online and register for one of five intensive experiences. Courses like “The Tactile Brain” introduce students to the ancient abacus method to learn flash mental calculation techniques, and “Young Visionaries”, explores hands-on projects in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed-media collage, including visiting artists and a special trip to NYC.
The challenge is narrowing down all the options! Choose from Digital Photography, Science Medley, Meteorology, Model Rocketry, Organic Vegetable Gardening, 3D Printing, Podcasting, Secret Codes, Solar Energy, Robotics, Good Works, and Writing for a Cause, among many other course offerings.
In the Lower School Programs, D-E’s youngest campers take on the entire world, exploring the magic of literature, including mysteries, poetry, and fables. In the Discoveries and Adventures Programs, learning comes alive. At both the introductory and advancement levels, students are motivated to create their own path to graduation.
With a strong tradition in rigorous academics, the arts, compassion and independent thinking, D-E is located just minutes from George Washington Bridge on a beautiful 40+ acre campus.
Camp sessions begin June 29. Come check out the program! D-E’s open house will be held on Saturday, May 16, 1-3pm.
