But still, there’s something magical about cracking open a book, falling into the story, and falling in love with the characters. It’s why libraries, bookstores, and other places where books live feel so full of possibility. One of the best gifts we can give our kiddos is that similar feeling of anticipation and hope we all get from reading something great. The first step on this journey is, of course, learning to read, and read well. Wise Wonder, a unique, early childhood literacy center in Ridgewood, New Jersey, is the perfect place for your child to become a lifelong lover of reading, books, and the wonder of words.
Wise Wonder Enrichment was founded by a teacher and mom of three with 20 years of experience in early childhood, literacy, and elementary education. She developed the curriculum at Wise Wonder to meet the needs and learning styles of each child. But a class at Wise Wonder Enrichment won’t be work for your kid, it’ll be an adventure. Enter their light-filled, warm learning environment that has been specifically designed to stimulate your child’s curiosity and imagination and let your child explore their well-stocked shelves of wall-to-wall books. It’s never too early to start, so Wise Wonder Enrichment’s classes begin at age 3 months with grown-up-and-me classes that include both literacy, music and sensory activities. As children get older, they can attend preschool preparedness classes in which they practice separating from their grown up in a familiar and comfortable environment. Handwriting, pre-reading, and other important skills are taught and practiced in these classes. As they grow, independent reading, comprehension, and phonetic spelling are a main focus, giving kids the skills they’ll need to excel as they enter elementary school. Older kids are regularly assessed to ensure they are being challenged to read more, and more challenging, books. Our unique small group classes, with a maximum of only 5 children per class, allows for personalized attention, building confidence and enhanced engagement throughout each class.
The Wise Wonder Enrichment program is for children ages 3 months – 10 years old. Grown-up and me, soft separation, and drop off classes are available. Classes are offered Monday-Friday.
