How do you know it’s the holiday season? Peppermint everything, Santa’s arrival in the Macy’s Parade, and the reappearance of the Nunnbetter Dance Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker, this year, celebrating its 20th Anniversary.
Nunnbetter Dance Theatre is one of Bergen County’s premier dance schools. Located in Bergenfield, NJ, Nunnbetter Dance Theatre has been teaching and shaping young dancers since 1997. For many of these young dancers, Nunnbetter’s annual production of The Nutcracker is a highly anticipated event for which they both audition and rehearse diligently throughout the fall. And why wouldn’t they love it? Current NDT students have the exciting opportunity to perform alongside local professionals, as well as dancers from New York City, in this story of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince in the Land of Sweets.
It’s hard to improve on this classic, but leave it to Nunnbetter Dance Theatre to try. This year, in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the show, NDT has invited alumni, many of whom now dance professionally with companies around the country, to return for the production, visit with the cast and commemorate this milestone.
Get yourself and your family in the holiday spirit with Clara as she encounters the tiniest of Angels, an army of Mice, elegant dancers from far off lands, and of course, the Sugar Plum Fairy. Performances will be held at the Bergen County Academies and are scheduled for Friday, December 7th at 7:00 pm, Saturday, December 8th at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm and Sunday, December 9th at 3:00 pm.

Nunnbetter Dance Theatre emphasizes proper technique and strong fundamentals in their dance instruction. Classes begin at age 3 and support everyone from beginners through pre-professional.
