Who knew that looking for the perfect school for your child would be so complicated? Under normal circumstances, you’d visit a campus, meet faculty, staff and students in person, see and experience the facilities and get a feel for the place, its programs and pedagogy. This year, that’s not so easy. But at The Elisabeth Morrow School, they’ve worked hard to virtually replicate the typical school visit for prospective students and, (bonus!) they’re even offering a limited number of in-person campus tours so you can experience all that the school has to offer.
The Elisabeth Morrow School is a premier independent day school that ensures a robust, academic, age-appropriate curriculum that is balanced with character development in a diverse all-inclusive child-centered community. The Elisabeth Morrow School has re-opened this fall to a campus that features indoor/outdoor learning, spacious classrooms, multiple technology and science labs, playgrounds, learning patios adjacent to classrooms, libraries, athletic facilities, nature trails and working gardens along with innovative remote learning opportunities. They currently meet or exceed CDC guidelines to ensure that students stay safe and healthy on campus.
For families looking for immediate placement, EMS currently has availability in some grades for admission for the 2020-2021 school year. They are also now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year for all ages and grades.
But enough about EMS: they want to know about you. What are you looking for in a school for your children? How can they help your child achieve and flourish in their early and middle school years?
The Admissions team is offering a number of virtual information sessions and meet ups where you can learn about the school and the school can learn a little more about you. Families will have the opportunity to hear from Dr. Maureen Fonseca, Head of School, learn about the admissions process, and take a virtual tour led by a student ambassador. Families of prospective students will then have the chance to meet with the head of their child’s respective division for a question and answer session.
Additionally, since nothing is better than hearing the first-hand experience of families who are already at the school, you’re invited to attend a moderated panel and informal meet and greet with current EMS parents. Events are scheduled as follows:
Early Childhood and Kindergarten Information Sessions Tuesday, November 3, 12:00 PM Tuesday, November 17, 7:00 PMLower & Middle School Information Sessions Thursday, October 29, 12:00 PM Thursday, November 12, 12:00 PM Thursday, December 3, 7:00 PM
Parent Panel/Meet & Greets Wednesday, November 4, 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 9, 7:00 PM (for families from NYC)
Terrific Tuesdays, a monthly music and design thinking experience for children ages 2-6, is offered virtually on the first Tuesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. Music and technology faculty from The Elisabeth Morrow School engage young children as they sing, dance, create, and listen to excellent music.
A limited number of in-person tours of the campus will be available. In order to ensure the safety of current students, these tours will be offered only on the weekends and will only be for individual families. Families who have begun the admissions process will receive priority.
