Once a kid gets bitten by the performance bug, it’s really hard to get them off the stage. But then again, who would want to? Watching your kid dance, sing, or act in front of an audience is dazzling. So if you’ve got a kid who wants to hone their skills, or one who just wants to know where to start, The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC in Englewood has a summer program that is right for you.
The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC provides arts education to students ages 3 months to 21 years. They offer classes in all types of performing arts, outreach programs and programming for children with special needs in addition to access to some of the best instructors and performance opportunities in the area.
Summer programs at The Performing Arts School will be offered during July and August and will give kids of all ages and abilities unique opportunities to explore music, theater and dance. The best part is, at the end, most programs will offer a culminating performance where friends and family are invited to share in what the students have been learning. Summer programs include:
Performing Arts Musical Theater Camp (ages 5-12): Theater games, dance combinations, choreography, music appreciation, singing, acting the song, visual arts, and more.
SESSION ONE July 1 - July 26 (off July 4 & 5), Monday-Friday; 9AM-4PM
SESSION TWO August 5 - August 23 Monday-Friday; 9AM-4PM
Tuition: $850 per session. Includes lunch and snacks. Aftercare is available for an additional fee.
Early Bird Discount: Register and pay in full by May 15th to receive $100 off tuition.
Musical Theater Workshop (ages 13-18): Teens hone their triple threat skills with in-depth training in musical theater dance styles and acting with a focus on monologues, musical theater vocal technique and repertoire
July 1 - July 18 (off July 4 & 5), Monday - Thursday; 6PM-8PM
Tuition: $450 plus $10 registration fee
College Audition & Filming Workshop (ages 15-18): This intensive workshop prepares students for the college audition process in musical theater. Students will take home a sample pre-screening video that they can be used for auditions and competitions.
August 12 - August 22, Monday - Thursday; 6PM-8PM
Tuition: $900 plus $10 registration fee
Summer Dance Intensive (ages 10-17): Daily classes in Ballet, Contemporary, Horton, Modern Jazz or Theatre Dance and West African Flamenco with workshops in Nutrition, Body Conditioning, Audition Skills, and/or Dance for Film. A placement and/or audition class is required for any student not enrolled in dance classes at the Performing Arts School.

July 8 - July 18, Monday - Thursday; 10AM-4PM
SESSION TWO
August 5 - August 15, Monday - Thursday; 10AM-4PM
Tuition: $800 per session or $1,500 for both sessions plus $10 registration fee. Lunch will be provided.
Summer Open Dance Classes (all ages): Open afternoon and evening classes in ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop or tap. Single and drop-in classes are permitted, which is great for the college or adult dancer, or students may sign up for the 6-week session. These classes vary in level and can help students keep their skills sharp over summer break.
Early Childhood Music Summer Session (ages 3 mo-4 1/2 yrs): A mix of traditional and contemporary songs from around the world that bring out the innate musical nature of young children.
