There are plenty of spots around Bergen County ready, willing, and able to help keep your kids of all ages busy, entertained, and happy. We rounded up some go-to spots to check out year-round.
The Little Gym of Englewood The Little Gym's Active Mini Camps for ages 4 to 8 typically runs from 9 am to 3 pm. With each camp, kids will have a ball participating in gymnastics, interactive and age-appropriate games, and learning activities. They'll run, jump, crawl, flip, and have fun getting out some energy.
The Fieldhouse, Northvale This new sports spot has it all — basketball, baseball, soccer, wiffle ball, dodgeball, arts and crafts, and more, and by signing up for a full- or half-day School Break camp session, your child will get access to everything. Sign them up for one or all days as they take advantage of the huge facility with plenty of space to run and play.
Code Ninjas, Saddle Brook, Norwood, Ramsey Let your kid engage in (one of) their favorite pastimes while developing their tech skills at Code Ninja's camp. With a specific focus on Minecraft, Coding, and Roblox at their Bergen County locations, kids can play, create, and learn while doing what they love.
Northern Valley Sports Academy, Closter Keep your little athlete age 3 to 12 moving while school's out at one of NVSA's sports-centered School Break Camps. Choose from a full or half day, with aftercare available too, where kids can play soccer, baseball, run relays, bounce, enjoy the indoor playground, and more in the 20,000 square foot facility.
HealthBarn USA, Ridgewood HealthBarn's holiday camps bring kids closer to nature while creating a focus on living a healthy lifestyle (and making new friends, too). Gardening, nature hikes, cooking, and composting are just some the fun and educational activities for kids ages 4 to 13 to enjoy. Plus, they'll get to develop their skills in the kitchen while becoming more adventurous eaters.
High Exposure, Northvale High Exposure's active camps for ages 5 to 13 lets kids climb walls, try the ninja obstacle, enjoy a Nerf battle, do archery, enjoy crafts, make their way through the ropes course, get warm around the campfire (depending on the season), and more. Camps are available in full- and half-day options, and they're all taught by professional trainers so your ninja-in-training can develop skils on real Ninja Warrior obstacles.
The Flavor Labs, Norwood and Paramus Budding chefs cook up tasty eats, including sweet to savory dishes like cookies, cake pops, breadsticks, and so much more — each day with a specific theme and matching recipes. Holiday mini camp for ages 6 to 13 are three hours, and you can sign them up for a one-day session or book multiple. They'll learn the art of cooking while enjoying their creations.
Tenafly Nature Center, Tenafly The School Break camps for grades Pre-K to 6th brings kids closer to nature. Campers will explore the woods and trails of the nature center, make crafts, play games, visit with the animals, and learn a thing or two about ecosystems — in a fun way. Plus, they'll get to enjoy the great outdoors any time of year. Older kids in 7th and 8th grade can join the Jr. CIT program to help out with little ones.
Superdome Sports, Waldwick, Fair Lawn, Northvale Boost your kids' activity while school's not in session at Superdome Sports' All Sports and Soccer clinics. For the All Sports Holiday camp, they get a sampling of soccer, flag football, wiffle ball, field hockey and arts & crafts, or they can focus on foot skills and technical training with the all-soccer camp. Plus, the newest Northvale location has plenty of space on the basketball court for kids to shoot some hoops.
Ridgewood YMCA When school's closed, the Ridgewood Y is open and filled with summer camp-like activities including crafts, themed games, and swimming. The best part? Camp is in session from 8 am to 6 pm for kids ages 4 to 12, so their day will be jam-packed with fun, and they'll come home tired and happy.
