During the school year, between the activities, the carpools, the homework, the bedtimes, the meals (do they really have to eat dinner every.single.day?) it’s so hard to think about anything other than what you have to do today, and maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll even have a second to think about your plan for tomorrow or next week.
Once summer arrives, though, you’ll have a little extra brainpower to deliberately consider and evaluate how you feel about parenting, the educational choices you’re making for your child, and the skills you want to help your child develop. But where to go to learn more and have insightful, informed conversations with educational experts and other parents? The Elisabeth Morrow Summer Coffee and Conversation Series, held on the beautiful and serene Elisabeth Morrow School campus in Englewood, New Jersey, is exactly the right place for you to talk, learn, share, and plan with fellow parents and seasoned educators.
The Summer Coffee and Conversation Series will be held on select Fridays in July and August, and will discuss parenting strategies and address top-of-mind topics for parents of children ages nursery school through middle school. This year, topics include: learning about the “educational multivitamin” that helps students outperform their peers, how to nurture independence, what you can do right now to help support your child throughout their educational journey right up to when they’re applying for high school or college, and how to guide our ever-more-online kids toward safe, respectful and responsible digital behavior. Conversations will be led by members of the EMS faculty and staff, but will be enriched by your input, advice, and experience as parents.
Dates for the Elisabeth Morrow School Coffee and Conversation Series are:
