Pips Island Returning to NYC and Kids Are Super Stoked

Activities  /

We’re big supporters of the pop-up trend, since it motivates us to check out new restaurants, shops, and even museums (including one gloriously dedicated to pizza) before they pack up and move on to the next city. But when a pop-up is such a hit and decides to come back and set up shop permanently, we’re not going to complain. That’s exactly what happened with Pip’s Island, the family-friendly immersive experience that sprung up in Manhattan a couple years back and recently announced that it’ll be returning to the Big Apple this spring indefinitely.

If you didn’t hit it the first time around (or even if you did), it’s a one-of-a-kind experience that’s definitely worth a visit. Each show is a fun, interactive adventure where kids – along with friends Pip, Pebble, and Finn – get to explore multi-sensory spaces complete with special effects, music, and educational tasks to complete. Participants use creativity and imagination to complete a “hero’s journey” with a goal of saving the island from darkness and defeating the villain. The best part is the kids get to feel like they’re the main characters in their own super cool story and leave the experience with a sense of empowerment, self-esteem, and a sparked creativity.

All that in an hour? No wonder Pip’s Island is such a hit.

Pip’s Island opens March 9th. Tickets are $59 at the box office or $49 online. 400 West 42nd Street, New York, NY
