Meet New Bergen County Mom Coco and Baby Chanel Nicole

Wellness  /

There’s a brand new Bergen Mama in town. And it’s COCO! We caught up with the super-sweet bombshell and wife to Ice-T to find out how new baby Chanel has changed her life, her favorite Bergen County haunts and her must-haves when she’s on the go.

On being fit and a body image

I was prepared to gain a lot of weight but I wasn’t going to worry about it. I figured I’d focus on the baby and deal with the weight gain down the road. Now I lost more weight than I expected. She took my fat away. But when she was born, I couldn’t go to the gym and do my normal body building regimen, so I lost a lot of muscle. I’m used to seeing myself with muscle, a little thicker. I want to get back in the gym to build a little muscle so I can feel good about myself but I’m not stressing about it.

On Growing Up in the Spotlight

It’s a weird thing. I kind of push it because I love the camera and take pictures but when she comes to that mode I will try to push her away from the industry as much as possible because I know how tough it can be. In the meantime it’s fun and it seems like she likes being in the spotlight.

Is Ice-T the Perfect Daddy?

He’s like a big teddy bear- he’s like her big teddy bear. It’s a really cute moment to see them communicate and to see a man in her life that wants to surround her. It fills your heart with warmth and love. I think I’ll be more of the strict parent and he’ll be the cool dad.

The Biggest Challenge So Far

I thought the night time, not letting me sleep would be the hardest, because I already have a sleeping issue. But she’s really good at night. The biggest challenge for me is breastfeeding. The first week with not making a lot of milk and my nipples hurting, I didn’t understand how people did it if it hurts so much. I just kept doing it the first week and then it did get easier and now when she’s crying I just put her near the boob and she calms down.

Diaper Bag Must-Haves When You’re On the Go

Right now I’m using my purse still. In my purse I have a big Ziploc bag with little preemie diapers, A&D, a washcloth, wipes, little single Similac bottles, a onesie, and a cover for when I nurse in public. I keep it all in my Ziploc so I can change my bag and transfer the Ziploc. I coordinate my purse every day with my outfit so I need to keep it in the Ziploc. Other must-haves are a Boppy pillow and a sling.

Favorite Bergen County Haunts

Chanel kind of rolls with us wherever we go. If we go to the Edgewater Multiplex she comes with us. We’re regulars at Brownstone Pancake Factory and I’m infatuated with their Vanilla Dream Coffee- it has whipped cream and caramel on it.  We are also regulars at the Chart House and love The River Palm. We literally live down the street and we go in and out of The River Palm all day long. If we go to the city, we love Mr. Chows, and we take baby Chanel with us. People want to see her because they read about her and they see her on Instagram.

Sleep or Sex?

Aaaahhh, sleep! I have to say sleep because I was instructed by my doctor to not have sex for 6 weeks after to protect my uterus so for now it’s definitely sleep.
