It’s Slime Time in Soho at the Brand New Sloomoo Institute

Activities  /

You know how, after one rookie mistake you banned both Play-Doh and Kinetic Sand from your house? And you know how you have also been itching to do the same with slime but your kids love it so much that you can’t quite be that mean? Well, give yourself a day off from washing slime out of your bathroom sink (just us?) and make plans to visit the brand new Sloomoo Institute in Soho.

Sloomoo Institute is the most satisfying sensory playground around with vats full of slime to play with, an ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) tunnel, a glow in the dark cove, a lake of slime you can walk on, and a DIY bar where you can design your own slime.

But Sloomoo Institute isn’t just about the slime. They’ve created a space that surrounds you with contemporary art and design from artists that have shown their work at galleries and in museums around the city. There’s also an ombré wallpaper of oozing slime that makes you feel as though you’re inside a cloud. Your kid might never leave!

Feeling as though the adults need in on this action? Sloomoo is planning “Sip x Slime” and “CBD x Slime” nights and we are here for them. They’ll also be hosting world famous slimers for workshops and classes.

A portion of every Sloomoo ticket will be donated equally to three different mental health charities in support of de-stigmatizing mental health issues and emphasizing the importance of stress relief and emotional wellness. Sloomoo Institute is also committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility so they’ll be working with materials scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to determine the best way to recycle or dispose of their slime without adding more waste to local landfills.

Visit the website for more information or to purchase tickets to the Sloomoo Institute. Upgrade to the Sloomoo Falls Experience and, after donning a custom poncho and goggles, you'll be drenched in the slimiest of slimy stuff. Sloomoo Institute opens for business on Friday, October 25th.
