Looking to dip your feet back into dining at an actual restaurant? Indoor seating is still out of the question for now, but outdoors, it’s full steam ahead (with mask and social distancing protocols, of course), leading many restaurants to come up with dining experiences that are anything but garden variety.
Case in point: Ampia Restaurant & Rooftoop, located in NYC’s Financial District, which is serving up private dining in a custom-built greenhouse. Husband and wife owners Michele and Anisa Iuliano have installed five crystal-clear greenhouses atop a 4,500-square-foot outdoor rooftop space filled with tropical greenery, Japanese maples, and blooming flowers. Each seven-foot-high greenhouse is made of material that blocks most UV rays and features a wood table for two, perfect for enjoying the seafood-centric Italian fare on Ampia’s reasonably priced menu.
