There's a bustling area in the town of Closter that's getting the recognition it deserves, and for all the right reasons. The industrial Herbert Avenue section of town with rich history that used to be the United States Bronze Powder Works has recently been transformed into Closter's lastest go-to for food, fashion, and fitness — and guaranteed fun.
Three new spots are taking over, with the recent openings of Humble Yoga and Mood Fashion Studio, along with Roots Café, which recently hosted a soft opening to showcase its beautiful new space, bringing its plant-based menu loved at its former Northvale location with it. Not only do the store owners want to welcome Bergen County and beyond into their inviting spaces, they want to create a community-centered oasis.
More than just a place to check off your fitness box for the day, Humble Yoga is all about creating a safe community for everyone of all experience levels. Classes and workshops, including vinyasa flow, sound baths, power yoga, pilates fusion, and more are taught by experts whose mission it is to help you "breathe, heal, and become the very best version of you," as told to Bergen Mama. The warm and welcoming space was founded by athletes Cortney and Bill Villafranco, who were in search of a workout that was gentle on the body. Their hobby eventually became their passion, and they hope to bring that big energy and share it with you in their new yoga home.

Also open in the Herbert building is Mood Fashion Studio, which is home to stylish opportunities for the budding fashionista. Mood offers a number of introductory to advanced fashion courses, including Foundations of Sewing, which is available in intermediate and advanced classes too, plus Fashion Illustrations and Textiles. You can also sign up for single-day workshops like Sip and Sew, Kids Sewing Club, and Textiles 101 for beginners. If you want a more personal, 1:1 experience, consider Mood's private sessions, or book your next party of corporate event space for a fun experience that's sure to be "sew" memorable.

This Northvale transplant is nearly ready to officially reopen its doors in this new location, having recently hosted a soft opening to welcome the public into the space. While it's not quite ready to serve up its much-loved menu of plant-based, gluten-free menu of cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and healthy entrees, it's well on its way. Customers can expect the same menu options as its Northvale location offered, plus a stage for live music and an art pod for classes and workshops. If you're visiting the café, look for delicious dishes like Thai Timeless Tacos, the Buffy Chicky Beyond Good Burrito in a veggie and flax seed wrap, and the Mediterranean Quinoa Bowl.
