Cliffside Park Restaurant Sedona Taphouse is Your New Gathering Spot

Instagram isn’t the only place we’re double tapping these days—our fingers are also getting a workout lifting frosty mugs and giving two thumbs up at the new Bergen County restaurant Sedona Taphouse, in Cliffside Park.

With one of the largest craft beer selections on the East Coast—literally hundreds!—not to mention an expansive and thoughtfully curated wine and cocktail menu, this upscale pub has us raising our glasses in delight and adding another name to our list of go-to group-date spots.

There’s literally something here for everyone (kids included). First off, the atmosphere is beyond inviting, with tons of windows overlooking the new plaza, outdoor seating for up to 50 (just in time for summer!), a HUGE bar area with plenty of seating, and a bangin’ sound system that manages to pump up the jams without overpowering conversation.

Then, of course, there’s the food. The menu here is solid, for sure, and offers up plenty of pub-perfect dishes large and small—tons of gluten-free options, too—all made from fresh, seasonal ingredients.

We sampled just a few plates from the dinner menu on a recent visit, starting with the Chicken and Black Bean Tostada ($7.90), which was loaded with cheddar cheese, fresh pico, jalapeños, black bean salsa, cilantro, and sour cream, and Julie’s Farmer Salad ($9.90), a bed of organic greens topped with tomatoes, goat cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries, and diced green apple and tossed in a house-made balsamic vinaigrette.

While we decided on our entrees, we got a little help from a flight of craft beers (four 4-ouncers of our choice) and one perfectly prepared, cherry topped Old Fashioned ($10).

Finally, ordering time! We opted for the Wood-grilled Salmon ($18.90), which was made using sustainable catch and arrived topped with a mango-pineapple salsa and our choice of two house-made sides, garlic whipped potatoes and seasonal squash couscous. We also tried the Hand Cut NY Strip ($23.90), 12 ounces of Braveheart Choice Black Angus Beef paired with sautéed spinach and bacon succotash. Sufferin’ we were not!

That didn’t stop us from getting dessert, of course, so a Peanut Butter Blast ($7.90)—decadent creamy peanut butter mousse with chunks of brownies, Reese’s Cups, and chocolate truffle in a chocolate cake crumb crust—soon arrived to help send us on our merry way.

Double taps all around!
