Cirque du Soleil’s VOLTA is headed to New Jersey

Activities  /

The circus is coming to town! Just not the one with elephants and lions and a ringmaster in a top hat. Instead, the terrific Cirque du Soleil show, VOLTA, will be in New Jersey under the big top at Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment from March 29th – May 6th 2018.

If you’ve seen a Cirque du Soleil, you know that each of the breathtaking, death-defying acts is strung together with a story or a theme. In VOLTA, it is the story of Waz, host of the game show, Quid Pro Quo, in which the winning contestants are rewarded with elevated social status. In flashbacks interspersed with jump rope, acrobatic, juggling and rollerskating performances, we learn that Waz was teased for having blue feathers instead of hair. With the help of the BMX bike riding, bungeeing and parkouring Free Spirits, Waz eventually sees that he is great just the way he is.

VOLTA’s story of freedom to choose and the thrill of blazing one’s own trail is one that every parent will love. The message is to be true to oneself and that being part of a group or team often makes it easier to achieve one’s full potential.

Tickets for VOLTA start at $55 and are selling out quickly. Purchase a Family Pack of three or more tickets and save 20%.
