Middle School students at Dwight-Englewood School balance a rigorous academic schedule and extracurriculars as they explore their interests, and hopefully try something new. The Middle School curriculum allows for both exploration of new ideas and concepts, and deep dives into topics of interest. Middle School at Dwight-Englewood is interactive, collaborative and kinetic. Students leave the middle school ready to take on the advanced coursework of the Upper School with enthusiasm and curiosity.
The hallmark of the Upper School at Dwight-Englewood is the unique elective curriculum. Students in the ninth and tenth grade study a core curriculum that solidifies skills through analysis, grounds students in basic concepts, and establishes an appreciation for the rewards of knowledge. As juniors and seniors, students are offered an array of elective couses that reflect the commitment of the faculty to relevant and deep learning. Students are taught to think critically, reflect throughtfully and, most importantly, to communicate effectively. Diversity in all forms, including viewpoint and perspective, is paramount.
