Sorry, Manhattan, but you’ve no longer got the lock on sensational summertime dining. Sure, we’ll still come visit, and you’ll always have a place in our hearts, but we’ve recently taken a lover. In Nyack. And it’s name is BV’s Grill.
Connected to the super-cool new Time Hotel, new restaurant BV’s Grill is considered a “first cousin” to NYC’s Bobby Van’s Steakhouse, and the culinary DNA runs deep. Executive Chef Joseph Walsh has cooked up an amazing menu of luxe steakhouse favorites and quality, creative American fare that incorporate local inspiration and seasonal options.
We stopped by recently to experience the summertime dining fun for ourselves and weren’t disappointed. Outdoor patio—check! Tiki lights—check! Fabulous cocktail menu—you know it!
Standouts included the Steakhouse Wedge ($12), a super-thick slice of crisp iceberg lettuce topped with bacon, fried onions, and blue cheese dressing; Oysters Rockefeller ($15), five marvelous mollusks prepared with spinach, Pernod, Parmesan cheese, and Hollandaise sauce; and their signature super-fruity Sangria that explodes with all the flavors of summer.
Then, of course, there are the steaks. From Filet Mignon ($41) to NY Sirloin ($44) to Romanian Skirt Steak ($32) and every cut in between, each sumptuous slab is grilled to perfection and served with pizzazz. BV’s also serves fresh seafood—the Sesame Ahi Tuna ($27) served with rice, ginger, and a miso-mirin sauce is a standout—chicken, and pork and lamb chops, are also delicious for those who aren’t into red meat.
So, skip the trip to the city and put the brakes on driving to Bridgehampton—your big summer dining destination is right in your backyard.
