The kids might love ripping open presents, but our favorite holiday tradition involves digging into a festive feast with good friends. Here’s how to score a seat for you and your merry elves at Bergen County's top holiday dinner hot spots.

Orama: If the drop dead Hudson River and city views weren't already toast-worthy, Orama's private dining room would definitely be something we would raise a glass to. Top it with Chef John Piliouras delectable seafood and steak dishes and you've got a guaranteed celebratory experience. Vibe: Upscale, city-like space, with a great bar scene and music. The Table: A separate room with it's own table, tufted chairs and a planner to help with every aspect of your event. The Menu: Everything from their a la carte dinner options to a pre-fixe dinner with custom desserts to finish off the evening. Details: The sky can be the limit at this Mediterranean villa set on the river which also serves brunch on Sundays. Where: 595 River Road, Edgewater, (201) 945-2020

River Palm Terrace Edgewater: Obviously you've hit the main dining room, bustling with a nyc vibe. But have you met it's cozier, quieter, sister- the upstairs dining area, which can be used for private gatherings or to accommodate larger tables. Vibe: Dressy but cozy, definitely a "special occasion" feel. The Table: Table clothes over round tops or long rectangular tables from 10 to up to 50 people. The Menu: Completely customizable based on budget and what you want: from steaks to chops to sushi. Top shelf wines are in stock. Details: A sushi appetizer table and pass-arounds plus amazing staff (who make sure drinks are always filled) are part of their formula for party success. Where: 1416 River Rd, Edgewater, (201) 224-2013

Finca: Your raucous crew will love the casual Spanish flair at Finca- so much so they may stay all night. Vibe: Warm woods, and a European vibe at this "estate of small plates". The Table: Their "party table" is situated in the main dining room so the atmosphere is more lively. The Menu: The Tapas menu includes everything from Empanadas and other Spanish favorites to steak and seafood. Details: Their drink menu offers up a great local wine list and Sangria (yasssss). Where: 20 E. Ridgewood Ave Ridgewood, (201) 444-1199

Romulus Restaurant: Stephen Henderson's upscale, cozy space serving Roman fare has a specialty in "party food" which will turn any average night into something more special. Vibe: Warm and cozy with attentive waitstaff who make sure your wine glass doesn't stay empty long. The Table: Can accommodate anything from small parties set within the restaurant to larger private events. The Menu: Cocktail food favorites plus salads, pasta and special dishes dreamed up by creative chef Wade New. Details: The staff's party experience ensures no detail will be spared in planning. Where: 21 East Palisade Ave, Englewood (201) 408-2639

Dimora Restaurant: County fave Dimora Restaurant has an upstairs where they serve up crowd pleasing pastas and choices of favorite entrees for you and 30 to 60 guests. Vibe: Warm and inviting. The Table: Cozy banquet style seating, usually in an "L" shape or a long table. The Menu: Offering various menu options or really "anything you want", pricing based on your menu choices and number of people. Details: We could swear the food is actually better than the downstairs restaurant (or maybe that was just the two glasses of wine talking). Where: 100 Piermont Rd, Norwood, (201) 750-5000
