Ten bakeries put forth the tastiest, prettiest, finest cakes in Bergen County. The sweet results from our cake-off that was held at Whole Foods Market Paramus are in. Our panel of 12 judges included event planners Tricia Smith Brown of Tricia Smith Brown Events and Gabrielle and Lorraine Wile of Wile Events. So who won you ask? Sugarflake Bakeshop took on the spring Mother's Day theme with their Calla Lilly cake and grabbed a "favorite" from our judges in the Taste Category.
Sweet Sisters Cakes prepared a beautiful cake with layers of fresh rasberries and hand-drawn flower detail with an edible flower.
Keremo Cakes presented a gorgeous three tiered Mother's Day themed creation and was our runner-up for Best Overall Cake!
Cake & Co. knows the way to a mama's heart is through a gorgeous purse! The cakemaker slaved over every detail and won us over with a "favorite" in the design category.
Miller's Bakery's three tiered pink layer cake (each with it's own distinct cake flavor) and kept us wanting more- making it a "favorite" in the Taste category.
Whole Foods Market Paramus prepared this spring-inspired sheet cake, which was moist and yummy.
Grandma's Kitchen prepared a custom three tier photo cake, which was nut free, egg free and dairy free- that tasted great. Impressive.
Kara-Kakes, who makes fresh, delicious, moist cupcakes, produces the same freshness in her cakes-with real bananas and strawberries layered into the filling.
Mrs. B's Cakes submitted a classic, elegant designed cake covered in flowers and pearls- that was flavorful and moist on the inside.
And drumroll please.....our overall winner for best tasting and best designed cake goes to Sweet Love & Cake. For their gorgeous Flower Pot filled with a moist banana cake inside. Congrats!
