Santa Lights Up the Night [dedicated]

Activities  /

You’d better watch out. You’d better not cry. You’d better not pout, we’re telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to town! That’s right, on Friday November 18th, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, the iconic 50-foot Big Santa will return to his home at Westfield Garden State Plaza to kick off the 2022 Holiday Season. From the 1950s through the 1980s, Big Santa perched atop a chimney in the mall’s parking lot spread holiday cheer to all who could see him for miles around. Now, on the 5th anniversary of the return of the updated Big Man, he’s back and ready to deck the halls.

This year 160 drones will light up the sky in a choreographed show set to holiday music provided by 106.7 Lite FM, making Big Santa’s arrival even more spectacular than usual. Festivities will also include musical performances, giveaways and surprise visits from holiday favorites like The Grinch.  The real Santa Claus will arrive in a fire truck with the Paramus High School Marching Band as his talented escorts. Food trucks from Catlike Reflexes, The Mozzarella God and Dunkin will add some extra holiday cheer. Once Santa has been lit, all are invited to continue the celebration inside the mall where there will be more giveaways and holiday craft stations will be set up.

So, check the weather and dress accordingly as this is an outdoor event. Then head to the parking lot adjacent to Nordstrom and Design Within Reach to start your holiday season off right. The rain date will be on Tuesday, November 22nd. Admission is free.  Click here to RSVP.
