You blinked and now your sweet little girl is in 8th grade and it’s time to make some important choices about her high school years. If your daughter is searching for a school known for its academic excellence, athletic competition, and creative expression grounded in traditional Catholic values, consider applying for the Class of 2027 at Immaculate Heart Academy.
Located in the Township of Washington in Bergen County, New Jersey, Immaculate Heart Academy was founded in 1960 as the first regional high school for girls in the Archdiocese of Newark. IHA follows its mission to provide an academically challenging Catholic education to young women in an atmosphere characterized by respect for the individual, Christian community, and a high level of family involvement.
Currently, students from eight different counties in New Jersey and New York are enrolled at IHA. They came for the liberal arts curriculum and the diversity of extra-curricular activities that offer something unique for each Immaculate Heart Academy student, and they stayed for the incomparable sisterhood that is formed at IHA. Memories made at IHA last a lifetime.
Immaculate Heart Academy is a vital and vibrant school that has evolved over the years in response to the changing needs of their students. Their most recent program, Scholae@theheart, enhances IHA’s superlative college preparatory curriculum by providing additional opportunities for students to specialize in their areas of strength and interest.
Scholars who choose to participate in Scholae@theheart will enroll in one of five tracks including: Arts, Communications, Engineering, Humanities, and Life Sciences. In addition to the core curriculum, students will benefit from guided course selection, an expert faculty mentor, exposure to community professionals within their chosen emphasis field, after school enrichment opportunities, and the experience of developing a capstone synthesis presentation in their senior year. Scholae@theheart will begin in the 2022-2023 academic year with its first full classes in 2024, just in time for current 8th graders to take advantage of this distinctive program.
To learn more about the brand new Scholae@theheart program, or to hear more about the school in general, please plan to attend one of IHA’s Open Houses, to be held on Sunday, October 23rd from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm or Thursday, October 27th from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
