These Aren’t Your Grandma’s Swing Sets (Dedicated)

Activities  /
Spring is in full bloom, which means wistful afternoons spent thinking of those sunny days of yore spent running, jumping, and concocting elaborate adventures on the local playground. Why not make sure your child has that same swinging good time with a supersized play palace of their very own—right in your back yard!

But don’t go rummaging through your woodshed just yet—creating a structure that’s sturdy, secure, and most of all SAFE, is not something to leave to your own DIY devices. Best to leave the building to an expert—like the folks from New Jersey Swingsets—who can ensure your child’s swinging good time goes off without a hitch.

New Jersey Swingsets has been providing affordable, top-quality play areas for years and is known for their no-hassle customer service. From buyingshipping, to delivery, their friendly associates can walk you through every step of the process in a snap (and can even install it for you, too!).

High Five!
The best swing sets have at least a five-foot-high deck—anything shorter and there’s a good chance your kid could outgrow it before summer’s even over!

Think Long-Term
Don’t scrimp when it comes to your child’s safety. Consider a swing set as a long-term investment that will be part of your kid’s childhood for years to come. Be prepared to spend around $1,500 for a swing set with a five-foot deck made from quality materials. Your child (and your peace of mind) will thank you.

Do Yourself a Solid
Sure, cherry bumps might seem fun, but they’re a sure sign that a swing set is on shaky ground. Look for one with SOLID wood over the swings (at least 4” x 6”), with holes drilled through the middle. This makes the swing set virtually unbreakable and less likely to snap while your child is playing on it.

A Perfect Frame
Swing sets should have 4” x 4” solid beams of wood holding it up (again, don’t skimp on a lower quality set, which are typically made out of 2” x 4”s). This is HUGE, because if the base of the playset is made with low-quality wood, you run the risk of it toppling over.

Protect Your Investment
You never know what Mother Nature’s going to throw at you—or your wooden swing set. While it is sealed and should be able to stand up to the elements under normal conditions, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Most reputable manufacturers will offer at least a 10-year warranty. If they don’t, take your business elsewhere.
