Get Ready for Basketball Season at The Shooting Zone’s New Northvale Spot

Activities  /

It's November, which means it's just about time to put away the football helmet, soccer cleats, and baseball or softball glove and head inside for the start of basketball season. If your child wants a little help to give themselves an edge shooting hoops both now and throughout the year, a popular Ho-Ho-Kus spot recently expanded to Northvale that made us jump (shot) for joy.

The Shooting Zone, which deems itself as Batting Cages for Basketball, expanded its Bergen County takeover by opening its doors in this new location. Rather than simply offering a hoop and court to hone your skills, The Shooting Zone takes basketball practice to the next level. The new facility, which opened about one month ago, includes eight half courts with a Dr. Dish shooting machine that improves shooting skills through its technology that provides consistent and accurate passing. It's also equipped with a flat screen TV that tracks your progress during the session — total shots, misses, makes, and more.

To know if The Shooting Zone is right for your child, they must be able to shoot on a 10-foot basket from at least 15 feet away. And getting started couldn't be easier. Simply choose your membership, including a yearly, 3-month, or month-to-month option, and use the Zone's app to book your session up to a week in advance. Each reservation gets your 45 minutes of shooting time, and you can even share a hoop with a friend who also has a membership. Not sure if you want to commit to a full membership? They also offer open shoot times which let you shoot your 45-minute shot for $40.

Along with leveling up your shooting skills, The Shooting Zone offers birthday parties on the weekend with access to their party room and the facility, personal and group training, clinics, school's out and summer camps, bar and bat mitzvah options, and two competitive team options.

With indoor-only season on the horizon, it's the ideal time to get ahead of the season and check out what The Shooting Zone's new Northvale location has to offer.
