Has there ever been a kid who wanted less holiday cheer? No. The answer is no. So, since there’s only so much a parent can do when they’re also trying to bake and wrap and oh yeah, do real life, American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey has a full calendar of fun, festive events that will keep things merry and bright all season long.
For those whose kids still need to consult with the big man before he heads back to the North Pole to load up his sleigh, Santa will be in American Dream’s new Holiday Dreamland from now through December 24th , ready for photos and whispered wishes. As always, walk-ups are welcomed. But, for those who make an advanced reservation for their spot with Santa, you’ll receive a free phone call from that jolly old elf, powered by Portable North Pole, you’ll have free access to your MyPhoto photo session all holiday season, onsite checkout will be a breeze, and you’ll lock in a convenient time and date of your choice without excessive waiting. Do note, however, that multiple families are seen by Santa in any given 15-minute window.
Once that all important meeting is over, it’s time to play and party but good luck deciding what you’re going to do first. The American Dream Mirror Maze has gotten a Hanukkah glow up (see what we did there?) through Friday, December 15th. Same enchanting reflections, endless corridors, and clever twists and turns, just made a little more celebratory in honor of the The Festival of Lights. For those who would like to get a little crafty with their adventures, TiLT Museum will present a Snack, Snap n Paint event on Sunday, December 23 rd from 2pm – 4pm. You can explore the exhibits, then create a holiday-themed painting and craft your own ornament in a 45-minute painting class.
Then head over to Nick the Halls at the Nickelodeon Universe, the biggest indoor theme park in North America. In addition to the thrilling rides and attractions, you’ll get into the holiday spirit at the Merry, Merry Dance Party, special holiday character meet and greets and photo ops, and, every Saturday and Sunday, a parade of festive folks and Nickelodeon friends will dance their way from the Slime Stage through the park in a holiday spectacle you won’t want to miss. Nickelodeon Universe will end the holiday season with a bang as they host a New Year’s Eve celebration just for the kiddos on December 31 st . If one day of fun isn’t enough, winter season passes to both Nickelodeon Universe and DreamWorks Water Park are now available. Purchase a Season Thrill Pass for Nickelodeon Universe or a Season Splash Pass for DreamWorks Water Park and you’ll enjoy unlimited visits through February 29 th (looking at you, school holidays). Or, by the 2-park Dream Pass bundle and enjoy one-day admission to both parks!
Okay, fine. We know we said these were events for kids. And technically, they are. But isn’t it nice when what we do for the kids also happens to be something their adults can enjoy?
