Westwood Favorite Caffe Anello Reopens. And we’re really glad.

Restaurants  /

It’s always nice to welcome back a favorite old friend but this time of year, it seems especially appropriate. Which is why it’s the perfect time for Caffé Anello, the Italian farm-to-table Westwood mainstay to reopen in a brand new location with an expanded kitchen and a new executive chef.

Menu highlights include the Meat Locker, a choice of meats hand selected by owner John Vitale from the top quality offerings of Westwood Prime Meats. But for those who aren’t quite that hungry, the small plates, especially the seared ahi tuna appetizer with an everything bagel crust, might fit the bill. Or, try the Burrata Anello, served on a bed of arugula with basil pesto and roasted red peppers.

Other must try dishes include the Long Island Duck with pepper jelly and root vegetable puree, the ravioli carbonara served with pancetta and pecorino, and the fusilli Bolognese.

Rumor has it that Caffé Anello might also open on Sundays for the first time ever with a “Sundays at Nonna’s” menu of Italian comfort foods, which would be appropriate considering that when you eat at Caffe Anello, owners John and Alissa Vitale make you feel like family. Ever present in the dining room, personable and friendly, they, along with the amazing food, make a meal at Caffe Anello feel like something special. If you haven’t been yet, go. We can promise it won’t be your only visit.

Reservations are now being accepted and are highly recommended.
