Six decades after Audrey Hepburn sipped coffee and munched on a pastry while gazing at baubles in the iconic opening scene of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” the world can finally actually have breakfast at Tiffany.
Over the weekend the luxe jewelry store’s flagship Fifth Avenue location opened its (adorably named) onsite eatery The Blue Box Cafe – a very Instagrammable room splashed in silver and robins egg blue and flanked by upholstered cozy booths, perfect cover for winter’s frigid temps. Menus are all set price and served up on Tiffany china, obvs. You can order up a croissant with Nutella or poached eggs and shaved truffles for breakfast ($29); olive oil-poached salmon or Maine lobster salad for lunch ($39); or go for the proper tea service done with an array of dainty finger sandwiches and tiny sweet treats ($49) and of course finish off with the most adorable (edible!) tiny blue box.
The place sounds like a perfect spot to stop during a shopping outing or a mother-daughter day in the big city. Just make sure to snap some sweet photos while inside the whimsical spot ... no pearls required.
