Prenatal Yoga in Bergen County? Find it at The Graf Center for Integrative Medicine (dedicated)

Wellness  /

If you’ve tried yoga, you probably know about (and have hopefully experienced!) the ancient practice’s many health benefits for both body and mind: from increased flexibility and muscle strength to injury prevention and de-stressing. In addition to helping clients experience yoga’s overall positive impact, the Graf Center for Integrative Medicine at Englewood Health tailors many of its yoga and body movement classes to those with specific health needs, including pregnancy.

Part of The Rodgers Family Meditation Program, the center's prenatal yoga and meditation sessions are led by certified instructors and take the comfort and safety of expectant moms into consideration with gentle poses and postures suitable for yogis of all levels. Classes are designed to teach a mom-to-be to focus on breathing while helping her connect to both baby and herself to prepare for labor and birth. And while getting ready for a new family member to arrive can be exciting and exhilarating, it inevitably comes with a pretty overwhelming to-do list, especially for those who’ve already got little ones at home. That’s why the sessions also use various meditation techniques to lower stress and anxiety - skills you’ll inevitably want to implement long after baby has made his or her debut.

In addition to weekly group sessions and special one-time programs (here’s the full schedule), the Graf Center offers private yoga sessions by appointment. Each of the upcoming prenatal yoga and meditation 4-week series includes four group sessions taking place one evening a week beginning August 6th and again on September 3rd for $75. Make sure to register in advance and sign your consent form here. Mats are provided and there’s even valet parking so you can spend more time getting your Warrior One on and zero time looking for parking.
