Performing Arts Are Back at Lincoln Center Restart Stages

Day Trips  /

Start spreading the news…Of the many beloved things that took a hiatus – in-person – this past year, the feeling of immersing yourself in a live performance was among those greatly missed. Now, the sunny warm days are shining a light on Restart Stages at Lincoln Center – an outdoor performing arts center with 10 performances spaces to bring the arts safely back into our lives.

Restart stages is a family-friendly space with wide-ranging events: film screenings from Film at Lincoln Center, summer concerts  from Lincoln Center Theater, dance workshops with New York City Ballet, an outdoor reading room and much more. Bring the kids for a day to enjoy dedicated family and kids’ area with art activities available. And be on the lookout as they hope to expand to outdoor Broadway plays and musicals. Plus, every event is either free or low-cost, making this a must-do for the spring and summer.

Restart Stages kicks off on World Health Day, Wednesday April 7 with a performance for healthcare heroes, with tickets available on a first come first served basis. Can’t make it out to a performance? Select events will be livestreamed internationally so you can still watch from the comfort of your couch.

Spending the day in the city? Stop by nearby Central Park Zoo for a visit with the animals, including sea lions, grizzly bears and snow leopards. And check out their 4-D Theater experience, which recently reopened on March 27. Enjoy Ice Age: No Time for Nuts in 3-D, with sensory effects for an additional dimension of excitement.
