It’s the dead of winter and though you love nothing more than shooting around with your kid in the driveway, you really don’t want to get frostbite while you’re doing it. But how to stoke their love of the game and teach them a little something about teamwork at the same time?
Turns out, Seton Hall Men’s Basketball is having a moment. After a meh season last year, they’ve come out strong this year with a winning record overall, and in the Big East standings, and impressive victories over conference rivals like Georgetown and Xavier. Most importantly, the team seems to be playing together well, especially in light of some big name transfers out of their lineup at the end of last season.
It's this kind of resilience and solidarity that helps athletes and teams at all levels of
competition succeed. For younger athletes, watching a team work together can inspire them to greater feats of leadership and cooperation on their own teams. For parents, watching elite athletes do the thing they love and do it well is sometimes just what we need to make the carpools and hard bleacher seats all worthwhile.
You and your family can catch the Seton Hall Pirates in action against the Butler Bulldogs during Seton Hall Youth Basketball night on Saturday, February 24 th . Tip off is at 8:30pm at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and each youth athlete in attendance will receive a custom Seton Hall water bottle. You’ll see some great basketball, your kids will learn a little something about teamwork, and maybe be inspired by the athletes they see on the court, and you’ll all get the chance to make some memories together.
