With winter in full swing, there's a good chance you've said "see you next spring" to your beloved backyard grill, but that doesn't mean you have to leave your love of barbecue out in the cold. Now's the perfect time to get your smoked-meats fix, compliments of Myron Mixon's Pitmaster Barbeque, which is now serving up its award-winning, competition-style Q in Hoboken.
Myron's massive menu includes all of your grill-time favorites, like Beef Brisket ($18), Baby Back Ribs ($19 for a half rack/$33 for a full), Pulled Pork ($15), and house-made Smoked Sausage Links ($14) -- all of which are available on a plate or in a sandwich, and all of which are smoked in-house daily. A variety of wings plus whole- and half-smoked chicken plates round out the protein offerings.
Of course, you're gonna need some sides with that, and Myron's got tons of "eff, yeah!" fixin's: Baby Back Mac & Cheese with tender pulled rib meat ($10), Buffalo Pork Rinds with a blue cheese-tabasco-honey dippin' sauce ($9), and standouts like Brunswick Stew, Peach BBQ Baked Beans, and Mama's Slaw in a range of sized ($5-$16 each). Still hungry? Finish off your feast with down-home desserts like Banana Pudding ($7) or a giant Jacques Torres chocolate chip cooking ($4).
This is definitely a family-friendly smoke joint, with kid-sized Beef Brisket and Pulled Pork Sliders for the little ones, as well as Myron's best-selling Family Meal, which includes a Smoked Half Chicken, a half-pound of Pulled Pork, a half-pound of Beef Brisket, a half rack of Baby Back Ribs, two Sausage Links and three sides -- easily enough for 3 to 4 people -- for a more-than-reasonable $70. Wanna meet the meat master -- and five time world barbeque champion -- in person. Myron himself will be hosting whole-hog dinners on a semi-regular basis.
Where there's smoke, it's fire!
