On Wednesday December 20, Maru Sushi in Ridgewood officially hosted their Grand Opening after recently having a soft launch. The restaurant promises a variety of signature rolls, fresh sashimi, and noodle options, plus an Omakase experience with 21 courses that feature Chef Ian's finest recommendations. With 20 years under his belt devoted to perfecting the art of sushi, each piece is created with a balanced portion of rice, fish, and precision.
On the menu, you can find signature rolls including the Shrimp Lollipop Roll with jalapeno and Thai chili sauce and the Geisha Roll with salmon, mango, asparagus, and apple, along with NJ-themed options like Ridgewood Roll with spicy tuna and yellowtail and the Route-17 Roll with shrimp tempura and spicy sauce. You can also find small shareable plates including Crispy Rice Cakes, or noodle dishes from the kitchen like udon soup.
Not only is every dish made with the freshest ingredients, but they're presented like a work of art that looks almost too good to eat. To enjoy your meal, you can sit at the bar or one of Maru's tables surrounded by wood-adorned walls and ceiling beams. But be sure to snag your reservation ASAP, since it's likely to book up quickly — especially around the holidays.
