Lefkes Restaurant in Englewood Cliffs Gets Second Life with New Chef

Restaurants  /

What’s better than a restaurant having a renowned chef in its kitchen? How about having two! Believe it or not, that’s exactly what’s happened at Greek restaurant Lefkes Estiatorio, where Executive Chef and owner Taso Ntoumas had the delicious idea to team up with Chef Stavros Bariabas and his culinary crew from Englewood’s Syros Taverna to produce a 2.0 fine-dining experience that delivers the classic flavors of Greece—with a modern twist—in each and every plate.

We dropped in for dinner on re-opening night and were greeted with true Greek “filotimo.” The already beautiful space has been given a fresher, softer color palette as well as new oversized booths and ambient lighting. The bar scene here is as lively as ever, making it a go-to spot in Englewood Cliffs.

Also updated is the menu, which is loaded with many of the specialties we loved from the original Lefkes, including the freshest fish available—served either a la carte or as a more substantial entree with accompanying sides—along with some inventive new offerings.

We started off with an order of perfectly prepared fried Zucchini Chips ($14) and Pikilia ($17), a trio of delicious dips served with warm grilled pita. We also tried the Traditional Greek Salad ($18), a generous mix of tomatoes, onions, feta, cucumbers, peppers, and capers tossed with Greek olive oil, and the Salmon ($28), which was served alongside quinoa salad, Brussels sprouts, and a cauliflower puree. Both were fresh, tasty, and not at all heavy. A perfect weekday dinner, if you ask us.

All in all, this is one collabo we can definitely get behind.
