Being a parent is a nerve-wracking business. Every time you think you’ve got a handle on the stage your baby or young child is in, they grow out of it and into some other stage. Then you have to start up the learning curve all over again. Plus, it’s hard to know where to turn for information and advice. Englewood Health’s Mom 101 educational seminars offer thorough information and common sense advice from the experts so that you can feel armed with the knowledge you need to make the best choices for you and your baby or child.

The Mom 101 seminars are designed to support moms on the parenthood journey. Topics include tips to improve lifestyle and diet, emergency prevention and management, child development, breast care education, and mental health. Seminars are offered for expectant moms and new moms. They also support the moms with a little experience under their belts. Anyone ever try to talk a toddler down from a tantrum in the middle of the cereal aisle at the grocery store?

On Wednesday, April 10th from 6:30pm – 8:00pm, they'll be talking to preschool moms with The Preschool Years: Surviving and Thriving! Guest speaker Loyla Louvis, parenting and life coach and founder of Mothers in Training, LLC, will provide moms in the middle of these tricky years with a toolbox of techniques and strategies that can turn day-to-day parenting from simply surviving into powerfully thriving. Parents will learn how to reduce temper tantrums, teach effective cooperation, nurture self-expression, create boundaries and build confidence in your child (and in yourself!). Click here to register.

But wait, there’s more! Later this year the Mom 101 seminars will cover: Infant CPR (Demo), Car Seat and Safe Sleep, Baby Basics for Expectant Parents and Grandparents, and Planning for a Healthy Labor and Delivery Experience.
