Gearblock Brewing Opens in Waldwick, NJ

This one is for all the zythophiles out there (you know, beer lovers). Switch gears from your normal night out at the bar and check out the newest brewery to grace Bergen County with its presence, Gearblock Brewing Company. With a grand opening set for Friday April 29 in Waldwick, Gearblock is upping the drinking game with their small batch beers that will switch up on the menu regularly.

This craft micro-brewery is unique in its creations, so you can typically expect something new and exciting with each visit. By brewing small batch beers of about 100 gallons, Gearblock will offer a few core flavors while rotating its offerings to reflect seasonality and interest on their ever-evolving menu. This means, beer brews will last about a month (the quicker you drink it, the quicker they can move on to brewing another flavor). Billing itself as "brewing perfection," Gearblock is making its mark in the brew game with its menu of ales, lagers, stouts, sours and barrel aged beers. On tap for the opening? 10 beers and two seltzers, including fresh and flavorful brews such as the Sweet Galaxy NEIPA, the Crunchy Whip stout, the blood orange hard seltzer, or the sweet-meets-sour Tumbling Twit made with Black Currant. Can't decide between the flavors? Try one of their flights of four beers so you can enjoy them all. All menu options will be automatically updated on their website, so you can come prepared for your next visit.

While there won't be food served, Gearblock welcomes its guests to bring in any food from the many local restaurants nearby, or have your eats delivered. The space offers plenty of seating both at the long bar or at one of their tables for two, four or six in their industrial, prohibition-inspired tasting room. Want to get it to go? All flavors are also available to enjoy in the comfort of your home, with their crowler or growler fills, so you never have to worry about going thirsty. After their opening weekend, look out for live music nights, plus the option to rent out the space during the week for your special event.
