There's no celebration that says summer quite like Fourth of July fireworks. So why not kick off the holiday celebrations with a big bang? There are plenty of places to have a patriotic blast, with fireworks, parades, kids activities, and more fun that ends with a spectacle. Pack up the fam — plus some snacks, sparklers, and a blanket or two — and head over to one of these spots getting ready to light up you night.

 

Paramus 4th of July Fireworks and Food Truck Festival

What: Kick off the celebrations with a parade at 9 am on July 4, then continue celebrating on July 6 with fireworks, food trucks, and live music at 6 pm. 

Where: Cliff Gennarelli Sports Complex, Garden State Plaza Pkwy., Paramus

When: Parade Friday, July 4, FireworksSunday, July 6, 6 pm

Chow at: Bring an empty stomach as this year, they've teamed up with the Paramus Fire Department and Just Jersey Fest for food and fun.

 

Ramsey Independence Day Celebration

What: Come out for fireworks at Finch Park.

Where: Finch Park, 315 Island Rd., Ramsey

When: Thursday July 3, all day

Chow at: Food is available on site, or head to uber-popular spot Kinchley's Tavern in Ramsey for their infamous thin crust pies.

 

Ridgefield Park Fourth of July Parade and Celebration

What: Celebrate at one of America’s longest-running parades, and end the day with a concert and fireworks.

Where: Parade at Euclid Ave. and Mt. Vernon Street

When: Friday July 4, activities starting at 7:30 am

Chow at: MK Valencia Restaurant & Lounge in Ridgefield Park has a beautiful outdoor patio area to fancify your festivities.

 

Hackensack 4th of July

What: Come early for food trucks, family games, live music from Fillet of Soul, and end with their fireworks show.

Where: Foschini Park, 278 River St., Hackensack

When: Thursday July 4, opens at 10 am, fireworks at 9 pm

Chow at: Any of the number of food trucks on site

 

River Edge 4th of July Parade & Family Fair

What: Start the day off with a parade and end with a family-friendly fair with amusement rides and games, food, and entertainment. 

Where: Veteran's Memorial Park, River Edge

When: Friday July 4, 11 am-4 pm

Chow at: Mado Restaurant has casual Mediterranean cuisine in a cool yet laidback vibe.

 

Maywood Fireworks Celebration

What: Enjoy a night of live music and booming fireworks to brighten your celebrations. 

Where: Memorial Park, Maywood

When: Thursday July 3, live music at 6:30 pm, fireworks at 9:15 pm

Chow at: Twin Door Tavern in Maywood offers Italian eats and their own live music on Saturdays

 

Oradell's 4th of July Celebration

What: This two-day long patriotic party includes fireworks, food trucks, a wetdown, and more.

Where: Memorial Field, 343 Prospect Ave., Oradell

When: Thursday July 3, 6:30 pm food trucks, 9 pm fireworks; Friday July 4, 9 am parade, 10 am activities

Chow at: Grab a juicy burger from The Lab Burger, or sink your teeth into one of the food trucks at the event

 

Ridgewood 4th of July Celebration

What: The festivities are back this year, bringing a parade, live entertainment, food trucks, beer garden, and fireworks to the neighborhood.

Where: Veteran's Field, North Maple Ave., Ridgewood

When: Friday July 4, 6 pm 

Chow at: Stroll downtown Ridgewood, which offers top restos including Roots Steakhouse or Park West Tavern, or enjoy one of the delish food trucks at the event, like Park Wood Deli, Empanada Mania, or Angelo's Finest Pizza

 

Allendale Independence Day Fireworks

What: Enjoy a band concert as you wait for the vibrant, 1.5-hour display to begin at 9 pm.

Where: Crestwood Lake, Allendale

When: Friday July 4, 7:30-10:30 pm

Chow at: Mezza Luna Bistro's homestyle Italian cooking with hit the spot with its fresh pasta dishes, seafood, and meat dishes  

 

Tenafly 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks

What: Tenafly's annual fireworks display kicks off with live music, followed by its bursting fireworks show.

Where: Fireworks behind Tenafly High School

When: Saturday July 5, 7:30 pm

Chow at: Make it a special night out and head to Spring House with a top-notch dining experience

 

Bergen County's Star-Spangled Spectacular

What: The 2nd annual celebration starts with food trucks, live music, and bouncing, and it ends with a performance and fireworks. 

Where: Ridgefield Park section of Overpeck County Park.
