Café Angelique, Tenafly
Part coffee bar, part restaurant, this favorite in Tenafly offers excellent outdoor seating as well as indoor eating. Housed in an old train station, and with a sister location in the city, Café Angelique offers a menu of breakfast favorites, freshly baked pastries, and lunch standards.
Stern and Bow, Closter
Yes, sure the gang has a ton to discuss, but first order ofbusiness? Deciding if you’re going to order a bunch of the yummy bar bites and sides toshare? Or if you’re each going all in on the salads, pizzas, and sandwiches? Or, here’s a thought, why not both? Good luck deciding, but if you can’t it just means you’ll have to get together again soon.

Listen, do whatever you want, have the quiche, one of the mouth watering tartes, a salad, whatever. But while you are at this authentic bistro, please, please be the brave one and order the pommes frites. Bite Food & Coffee Co., Hackensack and Fair Lawn
Centrally located for meet ups between East Bergenites and West Bergenites, Bite’s two locations offer a breakfast and lunch menu with a Tex-Mex influence including tacos, burritos, salads and warm bowls, pizzas and sandwiches.
Bluestone Lane, Paramus
Breakfast and coffee with an Aussie influence, you’ll even find Vegemite on the menu. Check out the Brekkie Board that features half portions of the classic Avocado Smash and the yogurt and granola bowl.
Turning Point, Paramus
Traditional breakfast spot with gigantic coffee and hot chocolate drinks, if you run out of things to talk about (hahahahaha) you can just answer the trivia questions on the screen over the bar.

Charming breakfast and brunch spot with welcoming décor, rose gold silverware, inventive drinks, traditional Korean flavors blended with classic American brunch/lunch staples (K-street toast, mochi waffles, crispy ddukbokki, and kimchi fries, to name a few) and please do not miss the tater tots.
Graze, Ho Ho Kus
You’ve certainly seen them on Instagram by now since Graze took the brunch/lunch scene by storm last year. The monte cristo, harvest bowl, and salted caramel French toast are all definitely worth the trip.
Toastique, Ridgewood
Brand new on the scene, if you are a “food eats first” person, this is the place for you. Their food presentation game is strong and even better, it tastes as good as it looks. Try the seasonal offerings, especially the cold pressed juices.
White Maple, Ridgewood
Once you demolish the complimentary popcorn, get down to business with brioche French toast, a variety of eggs benedicts, salads, and sandwiches. The braised short rib sandwich is enough to share. Or, bring the second half home and dinner is served!
Raymond’s, Ridgewood
We all know it and love it as a reliable spot with something for everyone. Favorites include the Mexican burrito bowl, salads and sandwiches, and fish tacos. Plus, no one is mad about the giant homemade marshmallows for the hot chocolate.
La Vie en Rose, Waldwick
The specials are always worth a look, and during the warm months, the outdoor seating is a welcome addition. Favorites include the croques monsieur and madame, the breakfast crepe, Asian salad, omlettes, sandwiches, and wraps.
First Watch, Montvale
Yes it’s a chain, but it offers a wide variety of food for every palate and you can stop at Wegman’s (or Crumbl) while you’re there. Seasonal specials are always on point and who can resist the pretty juice combos?
Willow & Whisk, Wyckoff
A perennial favorite, go for the mini lemon ricotta poppers for the table, the So-Cal breakfast bowl, the kale harvest salad, and one of their many fun coffee and drink options.
Café Amici, Wyckoff
Still a favorite after all these years, with reliably yummy salads, sandwiches, soups, and entrees. But did you know they also have a very good breakfast/brunch menu with omlettes, French toast, and more?
Country Café, Wyckoff
Originally located in Franklin Lakes, Country Café moved to Wyckoff last year and really, you could eat every meal here. Tons of breakfast, brunch, and lunch favorites all cooked to perfection. It’s hard to pick favorites, but the bacado toast, breakfast BLT, California Benedict, and healthy turkey burrito are all good places to start.
Farm & Flour, Franklin Lakes
New to the scene, this is another place where you really, really need to order the tater tots. Then, go for a savory stacker, a handheld, or an omlette.
Giovanna’s Café, Ramsey
One of the OGs, for breakfast, try an omlet or breakfast sandwich, for lunch, choose from salads, sandwiches, or pastas. Then, while you’re there, make dinner easy by picking up something tasty from their grab-and-go.
Saddle River Café, Saddle River
You gotta love a place that has a juice flight. So, go ahead and boost your immunity while you peruse the rest of the menu. Next choice, are you going with their extensive breakfast offerings? Or are you feeling more like a sandwich, salad, bowl or, fish tacos? Whatever you decide, leave room for dessert. Cannoli chips and dip are calling your name.
