In the time it takes for you to make an appointment with your primary care doc, get your referrals, and then coordinate all the follow-ups, you could have gotten your screenings done already, including a skin cancer screen and a vein screen.
For a limited time, each of these important screens is available FREE at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center during the upcoming dates below.
Why do you need these screens?
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States with an estimated 73,000-plus new cases anticipated in 2015. The latest statistics from the American Cancer Society highlight the importance of early detection and diagnosis. Because experts say skin cancer is highly curable when caught early, EHMC’s board-certified dermatologists and physicians will perform a close physical exam to identify any abnormal moles and significant lesions.
If you have visible, abnormal leg veins such as bulging varicose veins or spider veins, a history of leg pain or blood clots, you should consider get a vein screen. Symptoms such aching, throbbing or swelling in the legs, ankles or feet are additional signs that you need a vein screen. The Center for Vein Disease at EHMC was the first in the nation to perform the latest minimally invasive vein procedures including ClariVein, and the first in northern New Jersey to use Varithena to treat unsightly and problem veins, all on an outpatient basis. The screenings will be held at the Center for Vein Disease at EHMC and will include a physical examination by a board-certified physician and a medical history review. If further evaluation is needed, a follow-up appointment for noninvasive testing can be scheduled.
