As of this month, 70% of the adult population in New Jersey has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. That means 70% of New Jersey adults are on their way to being able to shake hands, hug, meet for a meal indoors, take off their masks, and show their smiles again. But there are still many of us who have not been vaccinated, which is why Englewood Health is making it easy to get your shot and get back to doing the things you love.
Englewood Health will be hosting two more community vaccine events in and around Bergen County. These events are free to anyone ages 12 and up who wants to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. You do not need proof of insurance and Englewood Health will not ask questions about immigration status.
Upcoming vaccine events will be held:
Bring your family, your friends, and your children if they are 12 or older. Children ages 12 – 18 will receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. This two-dose vaccine uses mRNA technology to protect your child by teaching the cells in your body to make a protein to produce antibodies that will prevent infection from the virus.
Parents or guardians are required to sign a consent form in order for children ages 12 – 18 to receive the vaccine if they will not be accompanying their children to the appointment. Kids who receive the vaccine may have mild side effects including fatigue, headache, muscle pain, joint pain, and chills. Side effects can last 24 – 48 hours.
There’s so much to look forward to this summer – backyard barbeques, camp adventures, family get-togethers, vacations, graduations, and more. You and your family want to feel protected and safe as you venture out into the world again. Go ahead. Get the shot. You will be glad you did.
