Edgewater NJs UMACHA Tea Spot Includes Gorgeous Views

Restaurants  /

Everyone can use a pick-me-up right about now, so when it’s time to treat yo-self (or the kids!), consider making a pitstop at UMACHA, a new bubble tea cafe in Edgewater (behind Mitsuwa Marketplace) that’s serving up all kinds of super-yummy beverages guaranteed to give you just the right amount of giddyup to get you through the day.

For those who aren’t already bubble tea converts, these bracing cups of sweet, creamy, chewy refreshment—thanks to the bounty of flavorful, tapioca-based “pearls” levitating at the bottom of every cup just waiting to be slurped up—have become a go-to beverage throughout not just Taiwan, but also all over Asia, Europe, and now North America.

We popped by this past weekend to give the kids an afternoon treat and had a ton of fun. We ordered an Iced Jasmine Green ($2.99-$3.99) for ourselves, and a Signature Iced Brown Sugar Milk Tea ($5.25) for the kiddos, then copped a squat on the HUGE outdoor patio overlooking the Hudson River (for real, the views are, in a word, awesome!). Not into chewing your tea? UMACHA also has a ton of other non-bubble fruit-, milk, cheese-cream-based teas—most offered iced or hot, your call, and many customizable—that are equally refreshing.

Hey, if we have to live in a bubble, we’re gonna live in this one.
