When an NYC-based restaurant lays down new and improved roots in Bergen County, you know it has to be good. And the latest transplant with a sister spot in the West Village promises just that and has our full attention.
Coming to Closter for a soft opening on September 26 and a grand opening on September 30, Domoto by Domo Japanese restaurant is opening its doors, bringing the quality comfort food and signature handrolls from its Domodomo location (NYC's first handroll bar) to our neighborhood.
Along with its handrolls and other dishes its New York space is known for, Domoto by Domo takes inspiration from Domodomo by serving up sushi, katsu, and house-made noodles. The menu also features Udon including spicy pork and Japanese Wagyu meat, rice dishes including a twist on fried rice and marinated salmon, and appetizers like Miso Chilean Sea Bass. Everything is made using only the freshest ingredients, so you'll always be sure you're eating a quality meal.
You'll also find a wine list with bottles of rosé, frontenanc noir, frontenanc blanc, plus mocktails like a cherry blossom, Earl Gray Lemonade, and Coconut Yuza. If you just can't wait until dinner to get your eat on, Domoto by Domo has a brunch and lunch menu from 12 pm to 4 pm with tweaks on the traditional offerings plus daytime-ready options like Mochi Waffle & Chicken and a Terikyaki Cobb Salad. Plates are ideal for sharing with others (at your will) or for enjoying on your own.
The space is just as impressive as the menu, with a simple, minimalist, modern design filled with floor-to-ceiling light wood accents in its booth, tables, and beyond. And the good news is you don't need to get dressed up to enjoy Domoto by Domo's fine yet casual cuisine.
With the opening happening this week, reservations are likely to fill up, so book your spot ASAP.
