Cape May’s Beach Shack Resort Is Now Officially a Family Hotspot

If you love Cape May’s Congress Hall, the grand, 200-year-old luxe Victorian resort, we’ve got amazing news: Its casual little sister Beach Shack has just re-emerged with a fabulous facelift ... just in time for your shore summer vacay. The place is basically the perfect combo of everything. It’s family-friendly (even your dog is welcome!) with a laid-back feel, but is still super stylish. Of course, it’s also home to the legendary beach bar The Rusty Nail, where you can chill by the fire pit with fried clams and cocktails while listening to live music and keeping the little guys happy at the same time thanks to an extensive kids’ menu and meals served on plastic Frisbees. (Brilliant, right?)

As for those updates, accommodations now feature beach-chic decor, new crisp-white linens, flat-screen TVs, and completely renovated bathrooms and kitchenettes equipped with fridges and microwaves. The rooms sleep four people to start and go up from there. The middle-of-the-road Bunk Shack sleeps six (including bunk beds and a sleeper sofa), for example, while the Big Kahuna tops out at three bedrooms and can sleep up to 10, so you can bring along your entire crew (including, hopefully, someone willing to babysit, just sayin’).
