What: Rainbow Loom Art Project and Tutorial
Why: Avoid the dreaded “how do I use this?” question while they are taught the fine art by a pro.

What: “Fourth of July” at Fort Lee Historic Park
Why: Cannon firing, musket demonstrations, games, music, and more!

What: Pirates on the Hudson
Why:  Swashbuckle over the Tappan Zee to this raucously fun festival, featuring blackbeards, musical pirates, gypsy sword dancers, and scallywags of all sorts. Kids can take part in the Pieces of Eight treasure hunt, wiggle their way into a pirate shipwreck, trade barbs with a clever, talkative parrot, and learn to act like a bloody pirate!
When: July 4th-7th (timed entries: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6pm) (adults $16, children $12, advance tickets required)

If you’re heading across the river….

What: Fourth Annual North River Historic Ship Festival
Why:  Nautical loving lads and lassies can tour historic ships, be entertained and set sail.  Check website for pricing and detailed schedule of events.
When:  Saturday, June 30th, noon to 8pm, Sunday, July 1st, 1pm to 4pm
Where: Hudson River Park at Pier 25, West St at North Moore Street

What: Egg Collection on the Farm
Why:  Feelin’ farmish?  Then go on and collect those eggs.  Then tour and catch lunch at the café. 
When:  Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th, check website for times, reservations required: $12 per person
Where: Stone Barns Center, 630 Bedford Road, Pocantico Hills, NY

Upcoming:

What: Children’s Sail Along the Hudson
Why: Children ages 5 through 12 and their ‘rents will love the lessons about Hudson River water-life tought by TNC director Jennifer Kleinbaum
When: Friday, July 19th 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM, $75 for an adult/child pair, advance registration required.
Where:  Departs from Alpine Boat Basin and travels to Liberty State Park, Round Trip
